U.S Under Secretary Of State Meets With Ghani, Abdullah

U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon, paid a visit to Kabul on Saturday where he met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and other Afghan high ranking officials.

According to an ARG statement both sides discussed the issue of combating terrorism and other regional issues.

Shannon also praised Afghan security forces for their courage in fighting terrorism, the statement added.

During the visit Ghani emphasized the need for Afghanistan and the international community to jointly cooperate in fighting terrorism.

Shannon reiterated the U.S's commitment to Afghanistan’s peace, prosperity, and security, the statement added.
